The Instituto Federal da Bahia (IFBA) – Salvador Campus is accepting applications for the 2025 Selection Process, aimed at free professional qualification courses offered by Manuel Querino Program. With a total of 300 places, the courses are in-person and aim to train young people and adults in different creative and cultural areas.
the free courses are part of an initiative to promote social and professional qualification, especially for young people between the ages of 16 and 29. All courses will be offered in person and have a total duration of 200 hours, distributed over approximately 20 hours per week. In addition to theoretical and practical classes, students will participate in technical visits, cultural events and immersive experiences in the chosen field of activity.
Available vacancies and locations
The 300 places will be distributed among different free courses and locations, as described below:
- R$200 scholarship to study! IFPA launches free preparatory course for students who want to be part of the Institute
- With the shortage of labor, Ferroport and Firjan SENAI open 45 vacancies for free professional qualification courses in the areas of Maintenance and Operation
- Harvard offers full scholarships to students with an annual income of up to R$570
- MEC scholarship for undergraduate degree offers R$1.050 per month; applications open until March 30

Classes will take place from Monday to Friday, from 18pm to 22pm, and there may be activities on Saturdays.
Selection process and quotas
Candidates for professional qualification will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis, provided that all required documentation is submitted correctly. In addition, there is a quota system, ensuring that 60% of vacancies are reserved for black, mixed-race and indigenous people (PPI), 5% for people with disabilities (PCD) and 5% for quilombolas. If the reserved vacancies are not filled, they will be allocated to general competition.
Application requirements
To participate in the selection process, candidates must be 16 years of age or older and have at least incomplete elementary school education (1st to 5th grade). When registering, it will be necessary to present an identity document, CPF, proof of education and other documents required for candidates competing for quotas.

- Application Period: January 31 to February 9, 2025
- Publication of the Preliminary List of Applicants: February 12, 2025
- Deadline for Appeals: February 13 and 14, 2025
- Publication of Final Approval List: February 17, 2025
- Institutional Registration of Approved Candidates: February 18 to 21, 2025
- Classes Start: March 10, 2025
Registration for free courses
Interested parties must complete the online form (click here) available within the established period. The certificate of completion will be issued by the Federal Institute-IFBA to students who attend at least 75% and obtain a minimum grade of 6 in the assessments.
