Get to know the Getúlio Vargas Foundation
Fundação Getúlio Vargas emerged in December 1944. Its initial objective was to prepare qualified personnel for public and private administration in Brazil. At the time, the country was already starting to lay the foundations for the advance that would be confirmed in the following years.
FGV decided to broaden its focus and, from the narrow field of administration, moved to the broader field of economic and social sciences. The institution crossed teaching frontiers and advanced in the areas of information and research, until it became a synonym of excellence and quality.
Being a bold and pioneering brand, Fundação Getulio Vargas inaugurated, in Brazil, stricto sensu undergraduate and graduate courses in private and public administration, as well as graduate courses in economics, accounting sciences, psychology and education. FGV also laid the foundations for a consolidated economy, based on the development of the balance of payments, economic indices and national accounts.
