Wind energy in Rio Grande do Sul

According to the government of Rio Grande do Sul, state management has been working with a focus on making investments viable which, initially, consist of the construction of a tower factory that aims to meet the wind energy projects to be implemented in the State.

According to the state administration, during the conversation with Nordex representatives, they heard that the company chose to invest in Rio Grande do Sul for several factors. Among them is, for example, the capacity of the installed transmission network.

According to Eduardo Leite, the future of Rio Grande do Sul depends on renewable energy. In this sense, he states that the state has a very large potential to be explored. “We are prepared to facilitate the conditions for this and other private investments in the area”, stated the governor.

According to the document that serves to establish the union of efforts between the parties, Nordex's role will be to collaborate with local universities to develop a research program in areas of interest and training for the local workforce.

Not enough, the Germany-based company also signed an agreement that aims to hire, preferably, local companies and finance through financial institutions linked to the State.

On the other hand, the government of Rio Grande do Sul committed to enabling environmental licensing and the possibility of granting tax incentives compatible with the nature of the enterprise, through deferral of the Tax on Circulation of Goods and Services.
