The Fiat Panda, known internationally as a subcompact SUV, had a profile similar to the Uno, with four-wheel drive and a strong presence in the European market. With the new generation, Fiat defines the Argo's design as an evolution of the Panda concept, now adapted to the demands of the Brazilian consumer. The new Argo, prepared to meet local preferences, relies on the strength and reliability that the Panda represents, but with specifications and design developed for Brazil.
Although previous rumors indicated that the Argo would use the Peugeot 208 platform, Stellantis, which controls both brands, decided on a base shared with the Citroën C3. This direction explains the replacement of both models with an economical and affordable car.
Compact design and modern retro style: the new Fiat Argo promises sophistication and essential safety
At 3,99 meters long, the new Argo will have similar dimensions to the C3, maintaining a 2,54 meter wheelbase and 1,75 meters wide, making it an interesting option for those looking for a compact and efficient model.
The new model's aesthetics stand out with a design that Fiat calls “modern retro”. At the front, it features a Black Piano grille, prominent bumper and LED headlights. The sides feature two-tone paint, a roof rack and the name “Panda” engraved on the bodywork, as well as 16-inch diamond-cut wheels.
At the rear, the car features an integrated spoiler, gray details on the bumper and full LED lights connected by a Black Piano strip, with the Fiat name embossed on the lid, reminiscent of the S10 and Ranger pickup trucks.
While the interior of the new Argo has not yet been officially revealed, it is speculated that it will feature elements inspired by both the C3 and the Pulse. Possible features include an 8-inch digital dashboard, a 10-inch multimedia system and synthetic leather trim.
However, as the model is based on the national C3, it is expected to have basic safety equipment, such as traction control, stability, ABS brakes and up to six airbags. However, it should not include more advanced items, present in its European version, such as collision warning, emergency braking and pedestrian detector.
Fiat's mini SUV comes with 135 hp of power in its hybrid version
The new Argo should feature a 1.3-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder flex engine with power of up to 107 horsepower and torque of 13,9 kgf.m. This engine will be combined with a five-speed manual transmission or an automatic transmission. CVT of seven simulated speeds.
Additionally, the model will also debut Stellantis' mild hybrid system in Brazil, with versions that will feature a 1.0 turbo three-cylinder engine with direct injection, coupled to a 48 V electrical system. With an estimated power of 135 horsepower and torque of approximately 22 kgf.m, the hybrid system will bring fuel savings of between 10% and 15% compared to models that run exclusively on combustion.
The new Fiat Argo 2025, which adopts a compact SUV profile, displays different fuel consumption averages depending on the engine and fuel type. According to data from Inmetro's Brazilian Vehicle Labeling Program (PBEV), Fiat's new mini SUV is expected to consume 14,7 km/l with gasoline and 10,2 km/l with ethanol on the road.
