After a few months of negotiation, GranIHC and Modec finally closed the deal. The contract is expected to be signed next Monday (28/09).

The campaign will be aimed at the FPSOs Cidade de Niterói, in Marlim Leste, in the Campos Basin, Cidade de Santos, in Uruguá-Tambaú, and Cidade de São Paulo, in Sapinhoá, in Santos, and the FSO Cidade de Macaé, which serves the fields of Marlim Leste, Marlim Sul and Roncador.

The UMS Venus flotel, from GranIHC, will be chartered for a firm term of approximately 300 days, with the possibility of extending the contract for another 180 days. The two oil companies had been negotiating the terms of the contract since June.

GranIHC presented the lowest daily rate in the bid made by the Japanese Modec, under the auction model, with a proposal below US$ 70 thousand/day, surpassing the proposals of Prosafe and Posh, which offered the Safe Concordia and Posh Xanadú units, respectively.

Undergoing minor repairs, the UMS is stopped at Porto do Açu, at the Dome wharf, in São João da Barra (RJ).

Petrobras hires two semi-submersible platforms for pre-salt maintenance and support

The offshore accommodation platforms will be used for maintenance and accommodation support for Petrobras platforms and floating production storage and offloading (“FPSO”) vessels in Brazilian pre-salt waters for approximately 3 years.

Petrobras will have the option to extend the contracts for another 1,5 years for both vessels that will operate in the pre-salt layer.

This is the third contract for POS Xanadu and POSH Arcadia's first with Petrobras. The two platforms are designed for deep waters and aggressive operating environments, such as the Brazilian pre-salt. They offer accommodation for 750 people each.
