The Federal Institute of Santa Catarina (IFSC) is accepting applications for 54 technical courses distributed across several cities in the state, offering more than 2 vacancies.

According to information from IFSC, registrations are open until October 24 for more than 2 vacancies in 54 different courses, spread across 15 cities in Santa Catarina.
Of these vacancies, around 1,4 are for technical secondary education, while 600 vacancies are reserved for technical courses subsequent ones, aimed at those who have already completed high school.
All courses are free, and those approved will begin classes in the first semester of 2025.
The tests will be held on November 24th for those who wish to enter courses that require this form of selection, both for technical secondary education and for subsequent courses.
There are, however, courses whose selection will be made by drawing lots, and in this case, registrations begin in November.
Diversity of courses in different cities
The IFSC offers a wide range of technical training options, with vacancies distributed across several cities in Santa Catarina.
According to the institute, the courses are made available strategically to meet both market demand and student interest. The courses available include:
- Araranguá Campus: Electromechanics, Fashion and Textile Production.
- Canoinhas Campus: Food, Buildings and IT.
- Chapecó Campus: Development of Renewable Energy Systems and Systems.
- Criciúma Campus: Buildings, Mechatronics and Chemistry.
- Florianópolis Campus: Buildings, Electronics, Electrotechnics, Mechatronics, Chemistry and Sanitation.
These are just some of the examples available. Each city has a course schedule that varies according to local needs and the infrastructure available on campus.
Who can apply?
According to the IFSC, the technical courses integrated into high school are intended for students who have already completed elementary school, or who are in the process of completing it by January 2025.
This modality allows students to complete secondary education and technical training at the same time, with just one enrollment.
Subsequent courses are aimed at those who have already completed high school, or who can prove that they have completed it by the time of enrollment.
Furthermore, half of the places are reserved for students from public schools, through the quota system.
Within this reserve, there are also subcategories for low-income candidates, self-declared black, brown, indigenous, quilombola and people with disabilities.
Registration and fee exemption
Although the courses are completely free, you must pay a registration fee of R$55 to take the selection test.
However, candidates registered with CadÚnico, belonging to low-income families or who are regular blood donors can request exemption from this fee at the time of registration.
Selection test
The selection process will consist of 28 multiple-choice questions, which will cover content from subjects such as science, geography, history, Portuguese and mathematics.
For integrated technical courses, the questions will be based on elementary school content. For subsequent courses, the level of requirement will be based on high school content.
Step by step guide to registering at IFSC
Registration is done entirely online, through the IFSC Registration Portal. The process is simple and quick, as instructed by the institute:
- Access the portal and click on “Registration and monitoring”.
- Choose the option “I want to sign up”.
- Select the municipality or campus where you want to study.
- Choose the course of interest.
- Fill in all the requested data.
- Indicate whether you wish to compete through open competition or through the quota system.
- Check all the data and finish by printing the receipt and bank slip.
