The Oi Futuro Institute Initiative offers free courses for young people aged 13 and over, with online and in-person classes, covering game design, programming logic and game development.

Instituto Oi Futuro has just opened registration for free programming and game development courses aimed at young people aged 13 and over. A initiative is part of the project Ship in Orbit, which aims to equip students with the skills they need to explore the vast and growing digital gaming market.

The gaming market is growing rapidly, with more than 100 million players in Brazil and generating around R$13 billion per year, according to data from the Newzoo Global Games Market Report 2023. The program is inspired by the 18 years of the Nave Program (Advanced Center in Education), which has already helped to educate hundreds of young people by integrating high school with professional training focused on technology and innovation.

Qualification courses offered by Instituto Oi Futuro

In person:

  • Creating My First Digital Game : For young people aged 13 to 16, with a workload of 16 hours, divided into 4 in-person classes at Colรฉgio Estadual Josรฉ Leite Lopes, in the Andaraรญ neighborhood, Rio de Janeiro. The classes will take place on November 1, 8, 22 and 29, focusing on game design, programming, visual and sound art.

Online:

  • Introduction to Game Design : Course with a 2-hour workload, available to young people aged 13 or over.
  • Introduction to Programming Logic for Games : 2-hour online course, with content focused on the basic principles of programming logic applied to game development.
  • Visual Arts for Games : 2-hour course on the main techniques and tools for creating the visual part of a game.
  • Sound Arts for Games : 2-hour course that explores the use of sounds and soundtracks in the construction of digital games.

All online courses are self-instructional and will include certification for those who complete them. complete the entire training path.

How does the selection process work?

The courses offered by Instituto Oi Futuro have limited places, especially in the face-to-face format. To participate in the in-person course โ€œCreating My First Digital Gameโ€, candidates must be between 13 and 16 years old and be regularly enrolled in a public elementary or high school. Therefore, it is necessary to be available in the afternoon for in-person classes.

The online courses, which have a total workload of 8 hours, are open to any student aged 13 or over from anywhere in Brazil. Registration is free, and participants will be able to access the classes starting on November 22, with certification guaranteed at the end.
