UFRJ has just opened 684 vacancies for a master's program in history, aimed at basic education teachers, with in-person centers distributed throughout several regions of Brazil.

The FREE MASTER'S DEGREE in History, coordinated by UFRJ, is accepting applications for the year 2025 and offers 684 places distributed across more than 30 universities throughout Brazil. The program, known as ProfHistória, is aimed at history teachers who work in basic education and aims to train teachers for more qualified and up-to-date teaching.

How the selection process works

The selection process for the FREE MASTER'S DEGREE at UFRJ consists of two main stages: an objective test and a discursive test. The objective test includes 20 multiple-choice questions, focused on essential content in the area of ​​history and teaching methodologies. The discursive test, in turn, requires a critical and well-structured analysis of educational and history topics, with the aim of assessing the candidate's mastery of the subject and their ability to reflect and argue.

To participate, candidates must have a bachelor's degree in history or related fields and be teaching in a basic education system. Public school teachers have priority, but if not all vacancies are filled by these professionals, up to 30% of the vacancies may be filled by private school teachers.

Interested candidates should also be aware of the application deadlines, which are November 13. The selection process will take place in early December, and the final result will be announced in January 2025.
