The government is offering 500 spots for technology courses with grants of up to R$2! A unique opportunity for those who want to enter the IT field and still get paid for it. Applications are open until October 18th.

According to notice 07/2024, the Inova Trails Program, created by State Secretariat for Science, Technology and Innovation (Secti) and Foundation for Support of Scientific and Technological Research and Development of Maranhão (FAPEMA), is offering 500 places on Distance Learning (EaD) courses.

The big highlight is that selected students will not only have free access to the content, but will also receive a scholarship totaling R $ 2 thousand during the program.

What are the courses and how do they work?

Os courses offered are part of the Trails Program, which focuses on training in Information Technology (IT), an area in constant growth and with a high demand for qualified professionals.

Classes are 100% online, and the content will be presented in a format of Bootcamp, where students will have the chance to learn in practice, with real activities and challenges that simulate the demands of the job market.

In addition to the theoretical content, the courses will provide participants with an entrepreneurial vision, helping them develop the skills necessary to work on the local, national and even international scene.

Employability is one of the central focuses of the program, which can open doors to professional opportunities in the future.

What courses are available?

Os free courses offered by Innovate Maranhao cover several areas of technology. See below the complete list and the number of vacancies available for each:

  • Front-end programming: 125 vacancies (300-hour certificate)
    Technologies: HTML, CSS, Git, GitHub, JavaScript, React, TypeScript, Node.js.
  • Back-end Programming: 125 vacancies (300-hour certificate)
    Technologies: HTML, CSS, Git, GitHub, JavaScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL, Docker, Python.
  • Game Programming: 50 vacancies (300-hour certificate)
    Technologies: Python, Unity, Blender, Game Design.
  • Design and User Experience (UX): 100 vacancies (300-hour certificate)
    Topics: UX Strategy, Prototyping, Usability Testing.
  • Data Science: 100 vacancies (300-hour certificate)
    Topics: Algorithms, Statistics, Machine Learning, Power BI, Python.

These courses are aimed at those who want to immerse themselves in the world of technology, whether for a new career or to expand their professional skills.

Who can participate?

To participate, it is necessary to meet some specific requirements. According to the notice, anyone aged 16 or over can register, as long as:

  • Be currently studying or have completed the high school in public school ou full scholarship in private school, or studying/completed graduation from public university;
  • Be resident in the state of Maranhão;
  • Have access to a computer with internet.

Registrations will be made exclusively online, from September 10 to October 18, 2024. There will be no registration fee, and it is necessary to send all required documents in a single PDF file.

How does the selection process work?

The selection will be made through online tests which include questions on logic, Portuguese, basic English and technical knowledge specific to each course.

Links to access the tests will be sent by email, as described in the notice. Pay attention to deadlines!

If the candidate does not receive the email, he/she must follow the instructions described in the notice to avoid disqualification.

All tests will be administered online, and the result will be published on the official website of the Secretariat of Science, Technology and Innovation of Maranhão.

In addition to guaranteeing qualification in an area with high demand, program participants have the advantage of a monthly grant of R$500 for four months, totaling R$ 2 thousand at the end of the course.
