Heineken acquired the land at the end of last year, via bidding, and would have bought it from an area of Precon Engenharia, negotiating others around it, all in the vicinity of the place that would house Fashion City Brasil – a mega fashion development that ended up not going forward.

The factory will be Heineken's 16th in Brazil. “The location is strategic for the company, since the Southeast region is extremely important for the growth of the premium and mainstream categories. The Heineken Group believes in Brazil, and continues to invest to ensure that its products reach all consumers and customers across the country”, points out Maurício Giamellaro, President of the Heineken Group in Brazil, in the text forwarded by the Executive.

According to a source in Diário do Comércio, four plots of land will be merged for the installation of the new factory. The 61,9482 hectare land, negotiated with BDMG in 2020, was sold by the Dutch company for R$14,5 million.

Currently, the giant producer of alcoholic beverages Heineken has 15 factories in Brazil, of which 12 are breweries. In addition, the group has 29 distribution centers (DCs) in Brazil, two located in the state of Minas Gerais – one in Poços de Caldas and the other in Contagem.

In addition to Coca Cola, the Dutch company gains Danone as an ally and the dispute between the beverage giants with Ambev is fierce in the Brazilian market

After closing with the global leader in non-alcoholic beverages Coca Cola, as of April, the Heineken brewery began to distribute Danone's Bonafont water brand in the South and Southeast regions of Brazil. Together, the two intend, of course, to gain market share.

For the brewery, the partnership brings non-alcoholic drinks and increases the menu offered to customers. For Danone, it is an opportunity to increase Bonafont's entry outside São Paulo. According to Danone, Bonafont is the leader in the most populous state in the country.

Coca Cola and Heineken make an agreement and the dispute with Ambev should intensify between the giant suppliers of alcoholic beverages

Coca Cola announced an agreement with Heineken to remodel its distribution network in Brazil and puts the multinational Ambev, the largest beverage company in the world, in a tight fight.

The agreement between the Heineken Group and the Coca-Cola distribution system in Brazil puts an end to an impasse that extends since the purchase of Brasil Kirin by the Dutch brewery, in 2017.

The partnership between the giants Heineken and Coca Cola will come into force in the middle of this year, and will be valid until 2026, but there is the possibility that it will be extended for another five years.
