New Heineken factory built on an area of 100 hectares will begin operating in July 2025 and promises to transform the economy of Passos with job creation and local development.
Dutch brewery Heineken has begun testing its new production facility in the city of Passos, in Minas Gerais. The factory, which began construction in 2023, is expected to officially begin producing beverages in July 2025. According to the company, the first operational tests were successful.
The new factory is being completed on a 100-hectare site on the side of the highway that connects Passos to the neighboring city of São João Batista do Glória. The unit represents Heineken's 15th industrial plant in Brazil and promises to transform the region's economy.
Testing progresses and production begins in July
According to the industrial director of the Dutch brewery, Reinaldo Franco, the installation process is on schedule. He explained that the current stage involves a series of simultaneous activities, such as assembling equipment, installing structures and completing civil works.

“Today we are working on the construction, the physical part is being finished. We have buildings, equipment being installed, assembly work being done, so it is a combination of several activities at the same time, to converge with our departure and our schedule,” said Franco.
The testing, which is initially being carried out on the unit's boiler, is expected to continue until June. From July onwards, the equipment will be ready for the start of industrial operations at the Dutch brewery.
Generation of direct and indirect jobs
The arrival of the new Heineken factory in Passos is expected to have a major impact on the region's job market. The company estimates that more than 300 direct jobs will be created, in addition to another 10 indirect jobs throughout the production, logistics, distribution and service chain.
There are currently 5 vacancies open for the Passos plant. Interested parties should register directly at company websitesa, where opportunities for other regions of Brazil are also publicized.
The expectation is that, as production advances, new vacancies will gradually open up, benefiting professionals from different areas, such as maintenance, industrial operations, quality, logistics and human resources.
Heineken expands presence in Brazil
With the new plant in Passos, the Dutch brewery Heineken reinforces its expansion strategy in the Brazilian market. Since its entry into the country, the company has expanded its production capacity and its presence in the interior of several states.
The Passos factory will be one of the group's most modern units and should directly contribute to increasing national production of already well-known brands, in addition to supporting the development of new products.
In addition to boosting the local economy, the project also strengthens the company's commitment to regional development and job creation quality.
