Free Master's degree with two research areas
Recognized by CAPES, ProfEPT (Professional Master's Program in Professional and Technological Education) offers 22 vacancies at IFS, divided between general competition and candidates who already work as civil servants in the Federal Network of Professional, Scientific and Technological Education.
This program aims to train professionals to improve technical and technological education, through in-depth studies and research.
The course is offered in two lines of research: “Educational Practices in EPT” e “Organization and Memories of Pedagogical Spaces in EPT”.
The first line focuses on the formation of innovative pedagogical practices adapted to the needs of professional education; the second, in turn, proposes the development of studies that rescue and value the memory of educational spaces.
Who can apply?
Interested parties must have at least an undergraduate degree.
For servers, it is necessary to prove an effective link with the Federal Education, Science and Technology Network, which guarantees that the studies carried out can result in direct improvements for this education network.
Yes, Candidates for the general competition must demonstrate recent experience of at least one semester, between 2023 and 2024, in activities linked to teaching or educational management within the EPT area.
Selection process and calendar
The selection process is carried out in a single stage, through the National Access Exam (ENA), which will be applied in February 23rd, 2025.
This exam consists of 50 objective questions that cover topics such as conceptual and historical bases of EPT, research methodologies, and teaching theories and practices.
The results of the ENA will be announced in March 18th, 2025, allowing successful candidates to organize themselves for the start of classes, which takes place in April of the same year.
The course structure provides for a combination of in-person and distance learning activities, depending on the program content and the nature of the curricular components.
Registration and possibility of fee exemption
Interested parties must access the official ProfEPT website to register, indicating the institution where they wish to study the master's degree and submitting a descriptive text about their research intention.
The registration fee is R$160., but there is a possibility of exemption for those who are registered in CadÚnico, the national system that gathers information on low-income families. The deadline to apply for this exemption is November 14th..
Those who do not meet the exemption criteria can still access the notice on the program portal and check all the requirements, deadlines and documents needed to register safely.
