A technology It is present in all aspects of our daily lives, from the way we communicate to the complex processes of large companies.
In this scenario, training in Software Engineering has become one of the most sought after and promising, especially when offered by a prestigious institution such as UFMT.
According to Notice no. 002/2025, 150 vacancies are available for the Software Engineering course EAD with quality teaching and flexibility, which allows students to combine studying with other activities in their routine.
Furthermore, the course provides a complete learning experience, with a innovative curriculum structure which combines theory and practice, preparing students for the challenges of the technological world.
How the Distribution of Places Works
The selection process for the Software Engineering course at UFMT offers 150 vacancies, which are distributed among five educational centers.
This distribution is strategic to ensure that the course reaches different parts of the state and that more people have the opportunity to study without having to travel to the capital.
The vacancies are organized as follows:
- Agua Boa: 30 vacancies
- Cuiabá: 30 vacancies
- Pontes and Lacerda: 30 vacancies
- Eastern Spring: 30 vacancies
- Smile: 30 vacancies
The selection process follows the inclusion policy with reserved quotas for candidates who self-declare as black, brown, indigenous, quilombolas, people with disabilities and public school students with proof of low income.
This criterion aims to ensure more equity in access to higher education, promoting diversity within the course and enabling more people to have access to quality education.
Requirements to Participate in the Selection Process
Those interested in participating in the selection process for the Software Engineering course at UFMT must meet some requirements basic requirements.
Among them, the need to have high school graduation certificate or equivalent.

Selection Criteria: How the Evaluation Works
The selection process will be carried out based on the analysis of the High School Transcript or in the ENEM notes of the last ten editions.
Candidates will be ranked based on the average grades in Portuguese and Mathematics. with additional score for other areas, if the ENEM was carried out in more recent years.
In case of a tie, the following will be considered: additional criteria, such as age and score obtained in the Portuguese subject.
This ensures that the process is fair and takes into account different aspects of candidates’ performance.
