Petrobras, in partnership with Federal Institute of Minas Gerais (IFMG), launched a program that offers a free technical course in mechanics, providing professional training for residents of Betim, Ibirité and Sarzedo.
The initiative is part of the Autonomy and Income Program, which aims to train young people and adults for the job market, promoting the economic and social development of the region.
The program offers 30 places for the course, which will be taught on the IFMG campus in Betim.

Registration is free and open until the day March 31th, 2025, which can be carried out through the official IFMG website.
The selection of candidates will take place through electronic draw, ensuring transparency and equal opportunities for all registrants.
Grants guarantee financial support
To encourage student participation and ensure that they can complete the course without financial difficulties, the Autonomy and Income Program offers monthly grants.
The value varies according to the student's profile:
- R$858 for women with children up to 11 years and 11 months old;
- R$ 660 for other participants.
The benefit will be granted upon proof of minimum attendance of 75% in classes, ensuring that students actually participate in the program and benefit from the training offered.
Who can participate?
The program is aimed at candidates who meet the following requirements:
- Residence in Betim, Ibirité or Sarzedo;
- Compliance with the criteria of the Quota Law, prioritizing low-income candidates, black, brown, indigenous, quilombola and people with disabilities;
- Completed or ongoing high school education;
- Availability to attend classes in the evening.
How will the selection be made?
The selection will be carried out through electronic draw, which will occur on the day April 4th 2025 and will be broadcast live on the official channel of FAIFSUL on Youtube.
Selected candidates must prove the requirements required to complete enrollment.. The final result will be announced on the day April 8 on the IFMG website.
Enrollment period and start of classes
Selected candidates must enroll between April 9 and 14, 2025. To do this, you will need to present the following documents:
- Identity document and CPF;
- Proof of address;
- Academic transcript or high school enrollment statement;
- Proof of family income.
Classes for the technical course in mechanics will begin on the following day: 5 May 2025, being carried out from Monday to Friday, during the period nocturnal, with the possibility of complementary activities on Saturdays.
In-person support for registration
For those who encounter difficulties in the online registration process, the IFMG Betim campus will provide in-person service on March 18, 19, 20, 25, 26 and 27, from 18 pm to 20 pm.
This initiative seeks to increase accessibility and ensure that all interested parties can apply for a place.
