Hurry and secure your place before February 6th!

If you are looking to specialize in public safety with free access to the best education in the country, get ready to discover an opportunity that can change your career.

With limited vacancies and an application period already underway, this specialization promises to revolutionize the market with innovation and intelligence. But what makes this course so special and essential for professionals in the field?

The Ministry of Justice and Public Security, in partnership with the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), announced the launch of the Lato Sensu Specialization Course in Intelligence and Innovation Applied to Combating Organized Crime.

Aimed at graduates interested in working in the security sector, the training is free, 100% online and offers 250 places.

Registration, which is carried out exclusively on the program's official website, remains open until 17 pm on February 6, 2025.

Innovative structure and strategic approach

The course is designed to address the most pressing public safety issues.

With a workload of 360 hours spread over four quarters, the program combines theory and practice to train professionals with modern tools and advanced techniques to combat organized crime.

In the first quarter, the focus is on building a solid theoretical foundation with subjects such as Scientific Research Methodology, Cyber Intelligence and Knowledge Management.

Then, the second quarter introduces Investigation Tools and Techniques, with emphasis on advanced methodologies in criminal and asset investigation.

In the last two periods, students study legal aspects, emerging technologies and trends, concluding the specialization with a Final Course Project (TCC).

According to notice No. 001/2025, this organization allows participants to develop an in-depth and integrated understanding of the real demands of public safety.

Who can apply?

According to the Ministry of Justice, professionals with a degree recognized by the MEC who work or are interested in working in the areas of public security, intelligence or combating organized crime can participate in the selection process.

Furthermore, public servants with proven experience in the area have priority for a portion of the vacancies.

The 250 vacancies are divided into two categories: 200 for general competition and 50 for affirmative action.

The distribution includes social groups in vulnerable situations, such as black people, indigenous people and people with disabilities, promoting diversity and inclusion in the training process.

UFSC selection process

The selection process consists of two main stages:

  1. Curriculum analysis (60%) – Assesses academic training and scientific skills based on the Lattes Curriculum.
  2. Proof of qualifications (40%) – Considers length of service and performance in specialized units.

The ranking of candidates will be determined by adding the scores from the two stages.

Tiebreaker criteria include higher score in the curriculum analysis, longer service time and older age.

Why choose UFSC?

UFSC is a national reference in higher education and scientific research, with highly qualified teaching staff and cutting-edge infrastructure.

According to the institution, the course offers robust training, aligned with market demands and the needs of public security in Brazil.

The free specialization represents an unmissable opportunity for those who want to boost their career while contributing significantly to the fight against organized crime.

According to the notice, the objective of the course is to train a select group of professionals capable of facing the contemporary challenges of the sector with intelligence and innovation.

Registration and documentation

To register, interested parties must access the program's official website (https://inteligenciaeinovacao.paginas.ufsc.br/inscricoes), complete the electronic form and attach the required documents by the deadline, February 6, 2025.

It is essential to ensure that all deadlines are met for registration validation.

This is what we need to combat where these criminals act and often go unpunished and unfound.

It is important to correct the matter. It suggests that anyone can participate. However, I read the notice and saw that the specialization is exclusive to active and effective employees of security agencies and related agencies. There are no vacancies for members of civil society.
