The almost 3 thousand vacancies are distributed across the four UFSCar campuses: Sao Carlos, Araras, Sorocaba and Lagoon of the Bell. The university decided to integrate the registrations into the Unified Selection System (SiSU) of 2025, which allows candidates from all over Brazil to compete for vacancies based on their performance in the National High School Exam (Enem).
According to the notice, 50% of vacancies are intended for broad competition, that is, any candidate can compete. The other half is reserved for students who completed high school in public schools or community institutions that work in rural education.
However, there are specific rules for those who wish to compete for reserved places. Students from private schools, even if they have received scholarships, or from international schools do not qualify for the quotas intended for former students from public schools.
Why choose UFSCar?
Founded in 1968, the Federal University of São Carlos is considered one of the best higher education institutions in Brazil. UFSCar is recognized not only for the quality of its teaching, but also for its strong performance in research and extension.
Taking part in a course offered by a university is a way to ensure excellent training. Furthermore, the fact that the courses are free and also offer official certification makes this an unmissable opportunity for those who want to enhance their CV.
Another positive point is the flexibility of online courses. Participants can study at their own pace, which is ideal for people with busy schedules or who combine studies with work.
Certificate benefits
Upon completion of the course, participants receive a official certificate issued by UFSCar, a document recognized throughout the country. This certificate can be used in selection processes, job promotions and even as proof of complementary activities for undergraduate students.
With the job market becoming increasingly competitive, having a certificate from a renowned institution can be the difference needed to gain new opportunities.
Reservation of places: who is entitled?
Candidates who wish to compete for reserved places must meet specific criteria. According to the university's announcement, only those who completed their entire secondary education in public schools or equivalent community institutions are entitled to the reserved place.
Private schools, even those that grant scholarships, are not considered for this type of competition. Furthermore, students who studied abroad are also not eligible for quotas.
These rules aim to promote greater social inclusion and offer real opportunities for access to higher education to people from less privileged backgrounds.
