The Ministry of Culture, in partnership with UFRGS, offers 1.000 places on the EAD Writer Training course, with scholarships of R$2.000 for 100 selected candidates.

The Ministry of Culture, in partnership with the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), opened 1.000 places for the EAD course of Writers Training, with the possibility of R$2.000 scholarship for 100 selected.

Vacancies for all corners of Brazil

Entries for the Writing Territories Course are open until November 30, 2024.

With 1.000 vacancies distributed throughout the national territory, the selection will be made for 50 classes of 20 students, allowing a geographical and social diversity, since the course offers quotas for black, indigenous e disabled people (PCD), in addition to extra points for candidates from the North, Central-West and Northeast regions.

According to the notice, the selection for the vacancies will be rigorous, based on the responses to the questionnaire and the documents sent by the candidates.

Those approved must achieve a minimum score of 7,0. The selection process takes place between 01 and 10 December, with the preliminary result published on December 10, 2024. There is no registration fee!

How does the course work?

This programme of Writers Training offers a basic training in literary writing, addressing a wide range of literary genres as long narrative, tale, chronicle, poetry, children's text, youth text e dramatic text.

Each gender will be treated as a learning trail, with specific content so that the student can explore techniques and styles in a personalized way.

Furthermore, the program stands out for its format EAD, which facilitates access for people from all regions of Brazil.

Classes, which begin in 15 January 2025, will take place entirely online, with extension certificate issued by the Ministry of Culture and UFRGS at the end of the course.

Course Objectives and Benefits

The main objective of the Territories of Writing é foster creativity and enhance participants' writing skills, with a focus on personal expression and authenticity.

During the course, students will:

Improve character building, plots and dialogues;

Explore creative writing techniques;

Analyze different literary genres, expanding the repertoire;

Interact with renowned professionals, exchanging experiences and ideas about the literary universe.

Additionally, students will have the opportunity to develop a literary project during the course, with the possibility of receiving a R$2.000 scholarship, offered to 100 scholarship holders, who must use the amount to complete their works.

Who can participate?

The course seeks include and represent different groups in Brazilian society. Therefore, the notice allocates specific vacancies for:

  • 25% for black people (black and brown);
  • 10% for indigenous people;
  • 5% for people with disabilities (PCD).

Additionally, the course offers extra points for candidates from the North, Central-West and Northeast regions, promoting greater geographic inclusion and ensuring diverse representation throughout Brazil.
