Hyundai's latest announcement is about an electric SUV that will compete directly with the HB20. Know more!
Hyundai announced its latest launch on the electric car market: an affordable compact SUV, aiming directly at the competition with the HB20. With a starting price close to R$100.000, the South Korean manufacturer seeks to conquer a segment still little explored in the Brazilian market, according to the Electric Car website.
Development on Hyundai's new SUV
Hyundai's new electric car will be an electric version of the Hyundai Casper, a small SUV known for its bold design and urban versatility. To increase internal space and battery capacity, the electric SUV will have a wheelbase lengthened by at least 25 cm, ensuring comfort and autonomy.
Based on the K1 platform, also used by other models of the brand, the model can borrow its mechanics from the Kia Ray EV, with an 86 hp engine and 35.2 kWh battery. With a predicted range of up to 320 km, Hyundai's electric SUV could arrive in Europe costing around 20.000 euros, making it a more affordable option on the European market.

Future perspectives of the new electric SUV
Despite Hyundai's interest in offering a cheap electric car, the chances of the vehicle reaching Brazil are still remote due to the tax and logistical scenario. Hyundai's move reflects the automotive market's trend towards electrification and the search for more affordable electric vehicle options.
With the launch of the compact electric SUV, Hyundai reinforces its commitment to electrification and offering affordable options for consumers. The model promises to be an interesting alternative for those looking for an electric car with good value for money and satisfactory autonomy.
