Almost a year after showing the new Hyundai Kona Hybrid in Brazil, the South Korean brand confirms the arrival of the crossover to the national market in April. In its second generation, the new Hyundai SUV will come in the HEV version, combining gasoline and 100% electric engines. In this way, the hybrid SUV aims to compete, mainly with the Toyota Corolla Cross and Song Pro, with prices that challenge other Asian models.

Measurements of the Hyundai Kona Hybrid

Hyundai's new SUV will hit the Brazilian market in the Signature and Ultimate trim levels. Both trim levels of the hybrid SUV are available in five color options: Atlas White, Abyss Black Pearlescent, Ecotronic Gray Matte, Cyber ​​Gray Metallic and Pearl Gray.

In addition, the interior of the Corolla Cross and Song Pro rival could have black or gray finishes. In the statement, the South Korean brand states that the model will have specifications and measurements that place it strongly in the higher categories.

Measuring 4,35 meters long, 1,82 m wide, 1,58 m high and with a 2,66 m wheelbase, the new Hyundai Kona Hybrid is slightly longer and wider than the Crete.

However, it is lower than the compact SUV produced at the Piracicaba (SP) plant. At the same time, the new Hyundai SUV imported from South Korea is more sophisticated, so it will compete at the top, against the Corolla Cross and Song Pro. For example, it has a multilink suspension at the rear and gas shock absorbers.

The interior of the new hybrid SUV is also impressive

Inside, the new Hyundai Kona Hybrid also promises to deliver modernity. One of the highlights is the dashboard with two integrated 12,3-inch screens at the top.

Both are Full HD and configurable. There is also an induction cell phone charger, electric adjustments on the driver's seat and wireless connection via Apple Carplay and Android Auto. The Signature version of Hyundai's new SUV includes an electric sunroof, ambient lighting, leather upholstery on the seats and an electric parking brake and trunk lid.

To top it off, the hybrid SUV that rivals the Corolla Cross and Song Pro will come packed with semi-autonomous features. The model features automatic emergency braking, blind spot warning, rear cross-traffic monitoring, lane keeping and centering assistant, adaptive cruise control, and obstacle sensors. In addition, the Signature version adds blind spot monitoring, the same feature found on the Hyundai Creta, and 360° vision cameras.

New Hyundai Kona Hybrid delivers power of up to 141 hp

The new generation of Hyundai's new SUV features similar mechanics to the Corolla Cross, however, only gasoline. 1.6 Kappa engine It has direct injection (GDI) and works with a six-speed dual-clutch DCT automated gearbox and an electric motor that works with a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 1,32 kWh.

According to Hyundai, the new hybrid SUV, which will rival the Corolla Cross and Song Pro, received an A rating for fuel consumption from Inmetro. The combined power is 141 hp, while the maximum torque is 27 kgfm.
