Opel, which is part of the PSA group, is preparing the launch of the new Corsa SUV for 2025. And no, you didn't read it wrong: the iconic Corsa, which was already one of the favorites in Brazil until 2016, will gain an SUV version.
From compact to SUV: the Corsa's transformation
O The new Corsa SUV will appear on the EMP1 platform, the same as the European Corsa, the model will be called Mokka. This means that it will not completely lose its essence compact, but rather gain a significant upgrade, especially in size and onboard technologies. The idea is to offer an SUV that carries the history of the Corsa, but with all the modernity that the European market demands.
The Mokka, which is a kind of cousin to the Corsa, was launched in 2020 and has already arrived with a modern look, without losing its charm. To new Corsa SUV, the expectation is that it will maintain similar dimensions, measuring 4,15 meters long, 1,79 meters wide and 1,52 meters high. Changes? Yes, but only on the front and in some details of the body, mainly to differentiate it from the electric version, Mokka-e, which is already successful there.

Under the hood: what to expect from the engine
Speaking of the engine, the new Corsa SUV will not disappoint. Two versions are planned, in addition to the electric one: one powered only by gasoline and another mild hybrid, both with a 1.2 engine with up to 136 horsepower. The electric version, already available on the Mokka-e, offers 156 horsepower and a range of 400 km, ideal for those looking for a sustainable and powerful option.
Inside, Opel must improve the design, including an updated multimedia system, a new instrument panel and the latest technologies. All to ensure that the new Corsa SUV is not just a reminder of the past, but a true evolution that keeps tradition alive.
Prices and launch
And what about the price? Well, it's still too early to have exact numbers, but if we look at the current Mokka, we can get an idea. Today, the gasoline model is sold in Portugal for 23.465 euros, which, in direct conversion, would be around R$144. The electric version, which is the most expensive, starts at 36.815 euros, around R$225. For the new Corsa SUV, it is likely that values will follow this range, with the possibility of a slight adjustment, especially in the electric version, which may even have a reduction in the final price.
