Super Meteor 650 has become the new motorcycle sensation in Brazil, with a four-month waiting list and competitive prices.
In recent years, Brazil has experienced significant growth in the motorcycle sales. Data from Fenabrave indicate that, between January and July 2024, 1,089 million motorcycles were registered, almost 200 thousand more than in the same period last year.
This expansion reflects a more stable economy and the search for more agile and economical means of transport, especially in large urban centers.
Although Honda continues to lead the market with more than 760 thousand units registered in the first seven months of the year alone, a specific segment has stood out: Custom style motorcycles. These motorcycles, with a classic design but equipped with modern technologies, have attracted a growing and loyal audience.

The unexpected leader: Royal Enfield and the Super Meteor 650
Among the brands that have been gaining ground in this niche, Royal Enfield is, without a doubt, the one that attracts the most attention.
Present in Brazil for seven years, the Indian brand has become a leader in the Custom segment, with the Hunter 350 leading sales with 3.027 units registered in 2024.
However, it was the launch of Super Meteor 650 that really shook the market, causing a real revolution.
In just 48 hours, 650 units of the Super Meteor 650 were sold, and today, the waiting list already has 1.300 people, with an estimated delivery time of four months.
“The Super Meteor 650 project had the mission of combining the DNA of our brand with the cruiser personality that our public expects, in addition to offering a powerful and light engine at the same time”, explains Renato Ferri, marketing manager at Royal Enfield Brasil .
What makes the Super Meteor 650 so special?
One of the main attractions of the Super Meteor 650 is its price, which is significantly more affordable than that of direct competitors.
Prices start at R$33.990 for the Astral version, R$34.490 for the Interstellar version, and R$34.990 for the Celestial version, including delivery to the customer's home, a differentiator in the market.
But price is not the only success factor. The Super Meteor 650 offers a twin-cylinder engine with 648 horsepower and 53,3 Nm of torque, ensuring powerful acceleration and precise gear changes, ideal for roads.
Furthermore, the design is a show in itself, with a low and comfortable seat, retro-style digital-analogue instrument panel with LCD screen, and integrated Tripper navigation.
Factory and brand growth in Brazil
Royal Enfield, founded in 1901 in England and currently owned by India, is one of the largest motorcycle manufacturers in the world.
In Brazil, the brand has operated a factory in the Manaus Free Trade Zone since December 2022, in partnership with Dafra, responsible for assembling kits sent from India. This operating model has allowed the brand to meet growing demand in a more agile and efficient way.
Between 2023 and 2024, Royal Enfield recorded a 44% growth in sales in Brazil, and the number of dealerships is expected to increase from 28 to 38 by the end of 2024.
The new stores will be located in cities such as São Paulo, Santa Catarina, Paraná and Cuiabá. For 2025, the goal is even more ambitious: 60 dealerships across the country.
News in sight
For fans of the brand, the news doesn't stop there. The launch of the Himalayan model is scheduled for 2024, followed by the arrival of the Shotgun 650 in 2025. These launches are expected to follow the success of the Super Meteor 650, further expanding Royal Enfield's customer base in Brazil.
With so many launches and growing demand, the question remains: Are motorcycle prices in Brazil fair or is the market inflated compared to other countries? Leave your opinion in the comments!
