More than 12,5 tons of LPG were unloaded at the port complex through a ship to ship transfer on the BW Princess tanker.
The Eco Arctic vessel, coming from Bahia Blanca, in Argentina, docked at the port bringing 12,5 thousand tons of LPG, to serve the Northeast region.
According to Interco, the product discharged in the operation will be sent to several cooking gas distributors in the country.
With this import operation, Interco aims to eliminate the surprises in the LPG supply in Brazil, bringing normality and fluidity to the product flows.
She believes that this is a type of activity that can make a strong contribution to the Brazilian port and energy sector.
Interco Trading's Director of Commodities and Trading, Marcos Paulo Ferraz, said: “The arrival of the Eco Arctic vessel will serve regions that demand a high amount of LPG. Another point that needs to be highlighted is that this import model is important to reduce the risk of shortages, which occasionally end up occurring in our country. The work we do is done individually with each distributor.”
Trading company Interco bets on the operation of importing cooking gas in the Port of Suape as a starting point for a strong expansion in the national market
Interco, a startup in the commodities segment, is made up of professionals from the oil and gas industry, started operations in September last year, serving the market in the south of Brazil through LPG imported by road from Argentina.
The opening of an infrastructure at the Port of Suape to carry out import operations offered the company a new possibility of growth in the national market.
More than 20 tons of LPG were imported in just three months of operations at the Pernambuco complex.
In this way, the company has been increasingly standing out in the national fuel scene, focusing on becoming a reference throughout the country.
“In this first semester we have the perspective of importing 60 thousand tons of the molecule to Brazil, both by road and by sea”, said the executive director of Interco Trading, Nicholas Taylor.
The company stated that it sees itself as a tool for operating the flow of operations with LPG, but intends to diversify its portfolio over the next few years.
For 2023, the LPG import operation at the Port of Suape has already guaranteed Interco good recognition in the region.
