In less than a year, Ipiranga doubles its maritime fuel supply capacity in Guanabara Bay.
You won't believe what the Ipiranga just did! The company announced an impressive expansion in its marine fuel, doubling its supply capacity in the waters of the state of Rio de Janeiro.
A Ipiranga begins a new phase in the commercialization of marine diesel oil (MGO) for vessels in Guanabara Bay, in Rio de Janeiro. The company incorporated the E-241 barge, with a capacity of 2.150 m³, into its fleet, significantly increasing its supply potential. Now, with the capacity to serve 18 thousand m³ per month, the operation offers greater availability, ensuring agility and the traditional quality of the product and services.
A Ipiranga It also supplies water in the South and North regions, in the ports of Paranaguá (PR), Itajaí (SC), Belém, Itaituba, Santarém (PA) and Manaus (AM). Expanded marine fuel operation allows more than one tanker to fuel the barge simultaneously, speeding up the loading process.

Improvements were made to the base of the Ipiranga which serves the operation, making the infrastructure for loading trucks three times larger and expanding storage capacity to 7 m³.
According to the vice president of Ipiranga Companies, Jose Vianna, “We operate with approximately 12% of the marine fuel market in Brazil, always offering the best supply service to our customers. The expansion of our operations in less than a year is positive for the market as it offers new product supply options for a growing sector.”, highlights.
The marketing and distribution of MGO involves five stages, including transportation by pipeline, road and, finally, sea, all following strict safety protocols as per the guidelines of the Ipiranga.
