Labor shortages are hitting the technology sector in a Brazilian state, which now plans to create an impressive 100 jobs by 2027. Developers, AI specialists, digital marketing specialists and more are in the companies' sights.

The technology sector Santa Catarina is expanding rapidly and plans to create around 100 thousand new job vacancies between 2025 and 2027.

This is the highest number ever recorded in the annual survey, reflecting the consistent growth of the sector.

Of these vacancies, 45% will be allocated to developer positions, highlighting the high demand for professionals specialized in programming.

Research methodology

A fourth edition of the Demand Mapping and Talent Profile for the Technology Sector of SC was conducted by Santa Catarina Technology Association (ACATE), in partnership with the Sebrae Startups and support from Florianópolis Innovation Network.

The research, carried out between October 2024 and February 2025, involved 401 companies of different sizes in Santa Catarina, providing a comprehensive view of the needs of the technological market in the state.
