The initiative is the result of a partnership between the Ministry of Education (MEC), the Federal University of Western Pará (Ufopa), Capes and the Federal Rural University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRRJ). The course aims to train basic education teachers to adopt pedagogical practices that promote inclusion in the classroom.
Training in inclusive practices: a transformative goal
With a focus on continuing education of educators, the free online course (EAD) aligns with the Viver sem Limites plan (2023) and the guidelines of the Brazilian Inclusion Law (2015). The MEC's proposal is to improve teachers' skills, ensuring that they are prepared to meet diversity and promote accessible education for all students.
Free course structure and content covered
The free, entirely online (EAD) course has a workload of 120 hours and will be held over three months, starting in March 2025. It is structured around four thematic axes that cover:

The content combines legal foundations and academic research, providing participants with the opportunity to develop skills to work with students with special needs in mainstream education.
Modality and target audience
Offered remotely, the course uses UFRRJ's Virtual Learning Environment. It is aimed at basic education teachers who seek to improve their pedagogical practices, contributing to a more inclusive and democratic educational environment.
