The Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF) in partnership with MEC, opened registrations for the free specialized training course for Second Degree in Inclusive Special Education, according to Notice 19/2024, amended by Notice 20/2024. This course is part of the National Basic Education Teacher Training Program (PARFOR) and offers 50 places for public school teachers and other graduates who wish to train in the area of inclusive education, a valuable opportunity for those seeking specialization and career growth.
Course Objective and Workload
The course's main objective is to train professionals capable of working in Inclusive Special Education. Classes will be offered in person, in the evening, with a total duration of three academic semesters. Throughout the specialized training course, students will participate in theoretical classes, discussion forums, seminars and assessments that prepare them for Specialized Educational Assistance (AEE) and other inclusive pedagogical practices.
Available Vacancies and Locations
There are 50 vacancies in total, divided into two categories. 70% of the vacancies are for public school teachers who already work in the field without the necessary training, and 30% for those with a bachelor's degree who may or may not work in basic education. The specialized training course will be held at the UFJF School of Education, in Juiz de Fora.

Selection Processes
The selection process is based on three main criteria: length of service in basic education, length of experience in Specialized Educational Services (AEE), and time elapsed since obtaining the first degree. The process ensures a fair analysis for all candidates, respecting the quota system. Half of the vacancies are reserved for candidates who self-declare as black, brown, indigenous, quilombola or people with disabilities who have completed high school in public schools. This system aims to promote equity in access to the course.
Course Enrollment Requirements
To enroll in the specialized training course for a Second Degree in Inclusive Special Education, candidates must have a bachelor's degree and be registered with the Freire Platform. Basic education teachers who do not have training in the area of inclusive education have priority in the selection process. In addition, candidates must be available to participate in the course at night and, to be successful in the course, access to resources such as a computer and the internet is recommended, since some activities may require these means.
