The Ministry of Education (MEC) is with open for subscriptions for free language courses, including English, Spanish and French, through the Aprenda Platform. The teaching method is distance learning (EaD), providing flexibility to students. These courses, which do not require a selection process, offer valid certification and can be used as complementary hours in undergraduate courses.
There is also training focused on proficiency in the Portuguese language, ideal for refugees, naturalized Brazilians or for those looking to improve their language skills.
Who can participate?
Places are unlimited and open to anyone interested, anywhere in Brazil. Each course has a workload that varies from 30 to 40 hours and must be completed by July 31st of this year. The flexibility of distance learning allows students to follow classes according to their own availability, making learning more accessible.

The courses are organized into modules, with practical activities that need to be completed in order for the student to progress. Completion of the modules results in certification, which is issued after all tasks have been completed.
Courses offered
Spanish:
The Spanish course covers everything from basic topics such as greetings, the alphabet and essential vocabulary to more advanced topics such as health, travel and geographical orientation. Basic grammar is presented in a practical way to facilitate communication.
English:
The English course modules cover personal identification, transportation and weather, and sports and leisure. There is also a focus on grammar, with basic verb tenses, possessive pronouns and modal verbs. Students learn vocabulary related to travel, health, work and academic settings.
French:
- Basic French: Covers presentations and everyday life, and is recommended for high school and college students.
- French Applied to Management: With 40 hours, it focuses on tourism, airports, health and safety, and requires audio and video equipment.
- French Applied to Production and Service: With 30 hours, it covers topics such as accommodation, reservations and catering.
