Teachers from all over Brazil will be able to register for more than 1,2 million places on free courses focused on inclusive education.
The MEC (Ministry of Education) has just launched an initiative that promises to transform inclusive education in Brazil. With more than 1,2 million places on an inclusive education course, The program focuses on training basic education teachers so that they can improve the services provided to special education students enrolled in regular classes. Applications for the first 250 places will be open from October 21, and classes are scheduled to begin in March 2025.
The objective of the inclusive education course is to give educators the necessary tools to develop a more inclusive and effective pedagogical approach, promoting equal opportunities for all students, regardless of their special needs.. With inclusive education gaining more and more prominence, the MEC seeks to prepare teachers to deal with this reality in a way more practical and efficient, with the support of 50 higher education institutions that have already joined the program.
Training focused on inclusion
Based on data from the 2023 School Census, Brazil has approximately 1,5 million special education students enrolled in regular classes in public schools. This number reinforces the need for solid investment in educator training to ensure that these students receive adequate support throughout their academic journeys. Therefore, MEC is offering this inclusive education course, which will directly impact the lives of thousands of teachers and, consequently, students across the country.

About CAPES and MEC
The Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) is an institution linked to the Ministry of Education, responsible for promoting the training of higher education professionals in Brazil. Created in 1951, CAPES plays a fundamental role in the development of Brazilian education, coordinating postgraduate programs and continuing education initiatives, such as the inclusive education course.
Already MEC, responsible for regulating and coordinating the country's entire educational system, has as one of its main goals the promotion of inclusion in the school environment. With this course, the ministry reaffirms its commitment to ensuring a quality and accessible education for all students, regardless of their conditions.
With more than 50 higher education institutions participating in the project, the MEC's inclusive education course promises to be a milestone in teacher training in Brazil, preparing educators to face the challenges of inclusive education and contributing to a more inclusive and welcoming school.

Good morning and how to register.
It's a shame that it's only for teachers who work in the public system. Education also happens in the private system.
