The Ministry of Education (MEC) has just provide an opportunity unique for those who want to learn or improve their knowledge of foreign languages. Through the Aprenda Platform, the MEC offers free English, French and Spanish courses in the online format (EAD), with certification and unlimited places.

Learn a new language at your own pace and free of charge

Learning a new language makes a difference in the job market and opens doors for diverse opportunities, such as international travel and access to academic content in other languages. However, traditional language courses can be expensive, making it difficult for many people to access them. With this in mind, the MEC offers free online courses (EAD) to democratize language teaching and allow everyone the chance to learn.

Flexibility and recognized certification

The courses have a workload of 30 to 40 hours and can be completed by July 31, 2025. Because they are distance learning, students have complete flexibility to study at their own pace, without compromising other activities. The free online courses are organized into interactive modules, with video lessons, supplementary materials and practical exercises.

Upon completing all mandatory activities, the student receives a certificate of completion, which can be used as complementary hours in undergraduate courses or to demonstrate knowledge in selection processes.

Comprehensive content for all levels

Free online courses (EAD) are designed to cater to beginners as well as those with some prior knowledge of the chosen language. Check out the main topics covered:

  • Spanish: Introduction to the language, vocabulary for everyday situations, communication when traveling, basic grammar and conversation.
  • English: Essential expressions for basic communication, personal identification, vocabulary for travel and work, grammar fundamentals and pronunciation development.
  • French: Courses divided into three modalities: basic, applied to management and applied to production and service, focusing on different areas of interest.

It doesn't have French. Only English, Spanish and Portuguese. They should at least write this article properly.

I made a comment saying that French is not available. Because it really isn't. It's a lie and they deleted my comment. How awful. The scam is there, anyone who wants to fall for it.
