Measuring 366 meters in length and with a draft of 16 meters, the MSC Orion, which has the capacity to transport 15 thousand containers, inaugurated a new regular route connecting Bahia directly to Asia. This operation, carried out by Wilson Sons, represents an important advance in Brazilian foreign trade, strengthening the connection between the North and Northeast of the country with the Far East.

According to Demir Lourenço, executive director of Tecon Salvador, the terminal was recently ranked as the 6th best in the world in the category of up to 500 thousand TEUs, based on a survey by the World Bank and S&P Global Market Intelligence.
This recognition reflects efficiency in service and positions Salvador as an important hub for various industrial segments and producers.
Since investments began in 2000, Wilson Sons has invested more than R$1 billion in the terminal.
These investments included doubling the pier, increasing the draft depth to 16 meters, expanding the storage area, adopting new technologies and purchasing modern machinery.
The focus was also on training operational teams to ensure the maintenance of routes and attract new ones, such as the recently established connection with Asia.
