Innovation in solar plant management
MTR-TECSCI, an automation and artificial intelligence division of MTR Solar, is transforming solar plant management with its innovative “AI-Powered Ground Plant Management Platform”. This technology was recently implemented at the Avelar Plant, in Rio de Janeiro, belonging to Usinas Brasil Solar (BRS). The promise is a revolution in operational efficiency, with an expectation of operational savings of at least 10%.
The platform consolidates the control of various equipment, each with its own protocols and monitoring systems, into a single system. This facilitates simultaneous and effective management of plant devices. Furthermore, the platform offers a comprehensive and intuitive view of the plant's main analysis points. The system allows remote monitoring, enabling professionals to manage multiple plants simultaneously from anywhere.
Energy and economic efficiency
Since August 2023, the Avelar Plant has already been contributing to the generation of clean and renewable energy. With an investment of R$12 million, the plant has 2.560 modules and a capacity of 1382,40 kWp, generating a monthly average of 169.760 kWh. In addition to promoting sustainability, the plant represents a diversity of investors, including condominiums and companies from different sectors.

MTR Solar, responsible for developing the Land Plant Management Platform, is one of the largest manufacturers and distributors of equipment for solar plants in Brazil. By November 2023, the company exceeded 1,3GW in solar equipment sold, reflecting a 45% growth compared to the previous year.
Artificial intelligence as an ally
The MTR-TECSCI Plant Management Platform uses artificial intelligence to improve energy generation, quickly identifying faults and guiding the operation and maintenance team for corrective actions. Rafael D'Angelo, director of BRS, emphasizes the importance of the tool in the efficient management of plants, improving performance, maintenance and operational efficiency. The platform also offers advanced features such as remote monitoring with real-time alerts.
Applying AI to land plant management is a crucial strategy to improve the efficiency, safety and sustainability of operations. Eduardo Aguiar, director of MTR-TECSCI, highlights AI's ability to continuously monitor the performance of plant components, identifying anomalous operations and sending immediate notifications.
Conclusion
The integration of big data and artificial intelligence in ground plants offers more efficient, safe and sustainable management, resulting in cost reduction and maximizing energy efficiency. The MTR-TECSCI Management Platform promises to concentrate all these advantages, offering a complete and unique solution for managing solar plants. The expectation is that the new system will be operational at the Avelar Plant in early December 2023, with plans to expand to other regions of Brazil and Latin America.
