Maersk's billion-dollar investment in the Port of Suape promises to create jobs and strengthen the region's economic development
The elected mayor of Ipojuca, Carlos Santana, has shown proactivity in seeking investments that will boost the city's economic growth. In his recent visits to ministries in Brasília, Santana has articulated support and resources that aim to transform the economy local. One of the biggest highlights of his agenda is the announcement of a R$1,7 billion investment by the company Maersk in the Port of Suape.
This project will be officially announced on November 22nd, in a ceremony with the Minister of Ports and Airports, Silvio Costa Filho. This is the largest financial contribution ever made by the company in the region, and promises to generate a significant impact in terms of employment and income.
Impact on the Port of Suape
The Port of Suape, located in Ipojuca, is one of the main port complexes in Brazil. With the new investment, the site’s infrastructure is expected to be improved, increasing operational capacity and attracting new companies to the location.

According to Minister Silvio Costa Filho, “This is a fundamental investment for the Port of Suape, as it will generate jobs, income and boost the economy.”
