Di Santinni invests R$19 million in the Capodarte shoe factory, expanding production and creating 150 jobs in Sapiranga.
Two months after acquiring the Capodarte brand, Rio de Janeiro-based multi-brand retailer Di Santinni announced a investment of R$ 19 million in the factory of the women's footwear and accessories brand, located in Sapiranga, in Vale do Sinos, Rio Grande do Sul. This investment focuses on expanding the manufacturing unit, renewing machinery, hiring new employees to fill 150 job vacancies and increasing the inputs needed to increase production.
Importance of investment in the shoe factory
Capodarte, which specializes in high-end women's footwear, became part of Di Santinni's portfolio in July 2024, after purchasing the brand for R$36 million.
The new owner, recognized for its strong presence in multi-brand footwear retail, has already initiated a series of actions to boost production and increase Capodarte's share in the Brazilian footwear market.

The president of Di Santinni, Artur Tchilian, highlighted the importance of investing in factory:
“We are carrying out renovations to expand the factory’s usable area and renewing the machinery to ensure increased production, without compromising the quality that has always characterized Capodarte. Maintaining the brand’s DNA is our main priority,” said Tchilian in an interview with the Exclusivo portal.
Expansion and increase in production
A factory Capodarte in Sapiranga, which currently has a total area of 2.750 square meters, uses only half of this space for its operations.
Currently, the unit is responsible for producing collection samples and part of the brand's basic collections.
According to Tchilian, the factory accounts for around 10% of Capodarte's total production, but the goal is for this percentage to grow to 2026% by 50.
To achieve this goal, Di Santinni plans to expand the production capacity not only of the factory in Sapiranga, but also of other partner factories that are already approved.
Increasing production is seen as essential to meet the brand's projected growth in the coming years.
“With the increase in partner factories and investments in the Sapiranga unit, we will guarantee the quantity of products necessary to sustain Capodarte’s growth”, said the president of Di Santinni.
Creation of new job vacancies in the region
The expansion of factory in Sapiranga will also bring benefits to the local economy. Currently, the unit generates 85 direct jobs, with employees who were already working before the acquisition of the brand by Di Santinni.
All employees were retained after the change of control, reinforcing the new owner's commitment to the continuity of operations in the region.
With the expansion of the plant, Di Santinni estimates that 150 more direct jobs and another 250 indirect jobs will be created over the next two years.
The factory in Sapiranga should therefore become one of the main sources of employment in the city, contributing to local economic development.
“We are committed to the growth of the factory and to creating opportunities for the local population. Capodarte has a tradition of quality and we are confident that, with the increase in production, we will also be able to expand our team,” said Artur Tchilian.
Factory maintenance in Sapiranga
One of Di Santinni's strategic decisions was to maintain the factory from Capodarte in Sapiranga, the city where the brand was founded.
The choice was motivated by the need to ensure the maintenance of the quality of the shoes, which have unique characteristics in their production.
“Capodarte has a production process that is quite different from other brands. This led us to opt to maintain the factory in the South, with the same team that was already involved in production. This gives us confidence in the quality of the products,” explained Tchilian.
Capodarte, previously owned by the Paquetá group, went through a difficult period before being acquired by Di Santinni.
Paquetá The Shoe Company, which was headquartered in Sapiranga, faced judicial recovery in 2021, with debts reaching R$428 million.
During this process, production at the Capodarte factory was significantly reduced, although it never stopped completely.
With the new acquisition, the factory received new investments and a growth plan that aims to resume full production capacity in the coming years.
In addition to its operations in multi-brand retail, Di Santinni has a history linked to footwear production.
“Although we are known primarily as a retailer, we have never stopped producing some of the footwear we sell. We have several factories that produce products developed in-house for our stores,” said the president of Di Santinni.
With the injection of R$19 million and the planned expansion of the factory, Capodarte can strengthen its presence in the Brazilian women's footwear market, in addition to generating jobs for the population.
Di Santinni, in turn, continues to expand its operations, not only in the retail sector, but also in the manufacturing segment, reinforcing its role as one of the largest chains in the sector in the country.
