A small Chinese company has developed an advanced AI that outperformed ChatGPT, investing just $6 million. Find out how!

The Goal, led by Mark Zuckerberg, recently unveiled an ambitious plan to build a massive data center in Louisiana.

The main goal of the project is to feed its newest model artificial intelligence, the Llama 4, scheduled for release this year.

The investment exceeds US$60 billion and marks a significant advance in the company's commitment to AI, reinforcing its long-term commitment to the technology.

An unprecedented investment

In a Facebook post, Zuckerberg highlighted that the data center will be “so large that it would cover a significant portion of Manhattan".

The investment will be one of the largest ever made by Meta in its history, far exceeding the company's capital expenditures, which were between US$38 billion and US$40 billion in 2024.

According to Susan Li, Meta's CFO, despite the high investment, the company has sufficient financial resources to support its expansion plans in the coming years.

With this, Meta seeks to consolidate its position as a leader in artificial intelligence, serving more than 1 billion people with its Meta AI assistant.

The race for AI leadership

The construction of the data center comes at a time of growing global investment in AI.

Recently, former US President Donald Trump announced the launch of Project Stargate, an AI infrastructure initiative in partnership with OpenAI, Oracle, and Softbank. The project aims to invest up to US$500 billion over the next four years.

This move has sparked backlash in the industry, including comments from SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who questioned OpenAI's financial ability to participate in the project.

The rivalry between the tech giants intensifies as they race to develop the best AI solution on the market.

Nvidia's role in expanding AI

Nvidia, a leading manufacturer of graphics processing units (GPUs), plays a key role in this scenario.

These GPUs are essential for training AI models and, because of this, Nvidia achieved one of the highest market valuations in 2024, reaching US$ 3,6 trillion.

In early 2024, Meta acquired 350 H100 graphics cards from Nvidia, a billion-dollar investment to boost its computing power.

The company expects to end the year with more than 1,3 million GPUs in operation, consolidating its infrastructure to support the evolution of Llama 4.

The impact of the new Data Center

The data center will be built in Richland Parish, a rural region in northeastern Louisiana with a population of approximately 19, according to census data.

The initiative promises to bring significant economic impact to the region, generating jobs and attracting new investments.

According to Zuckerberg, the new data center will be essential for the development of future versions of the Llama model.

It is expected to begin operating in 2025, strengthening the company's infrastructure to meet the growing demand for more advanced and accessible AI solutions.
