The automobile industry is being transformed by innovation and sustainability, and BYD, with its prestigious sub-brands, is at the forefront of this revolution. Among its most anticipated releases is BYD Leopard 5, a plug-in hybrid SUV that promises to redefine expectations for electric cars in the Brazilian market.

The arrival of the BYD Leopard 5 in Brazil is not just a product launch; It is a milestone in the evolution of electric cars and SUVs in the country. With its combination of luxury, power and sustainability, this model is ready to capture the imagination and hearts of Brazilian consumers. In preparation for launch, the SUV had its design patents registered with the Brazilian National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI).

Innovation and luxury with the Leopard 5 SUV

Under the BYD umbrella, the sub-brand FangChengBao stands out for its focus on luxury vehicles, ranging from sporty SUVs to rugged off-road vehicles. The Leopard 5, one of the most iconic models in this line, is preparing for a triumphant entry into Brazil. This model was already presented with great enthusiasm at the Chengdu Auto Show in China, and is now taking its first steps on Brazilian soil with the registration of its design patents at the Brazilian National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI).

A powerful hybrid plugin system

The model is equipped with a Dual Mode Off-Road (DMO) plug-in hybrid system, consisting of a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with 197 hp and two other electric drives, one with 270 hp and the other with 340 hp. The hybrid package provides a combined power of 680 hp and 77,49 kgfm of torque. Power is transmitted to all four wheels via a 4WD system with three differential locks.

Autonomy and energy efficiency

One of the great highlights of the Leopard 5 is its autonomy. Equipped with the 31,8kWh BYD Blade battery, this SUV can travel up to 125 kilometers in 100% electric mode. Combined with the combustion engine and an 83-liter tank, the total autonomy reaches an impressive 1.200 kilometers, ensuring worry-free long trips with frequent recharges.

Innovative design and cutting-edge technology in BYD SUV

In addition to its impressive mechanical performance, the Leopard 5 doesn't skimp on style and technology. The vehicle features a rugged design with squared-off fenders and aluminum skid plates. Depending on the trim chosen, it can come with 18-inch wheels with BFGoodrich A/T tires for rough terrain or 20-inch wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport tires for more urban driving.

Furthermore, the interior of the SUV is a real spectacle in itself. Equipped with a 50-inch head-up display, a 15,6-inch multimedia center, and fully digital instrument panels, the Leopard 5 offers an immersive and highly technological experience. To top it off, biometric recognition and a premium Devialet sound system with 18 speakers ensure safety and high-quality entertainment.

Launch forecast and competitive prices

Expected to arrive in Brazil in 2025, the BYD Leopard 5 promises to be an attractive option for those looking for a high-performance and luxurious electric SUV. In the Chinese market, the model varies between 289.800 and 352.800 yuan, which is equivalent to approximately R$204 and R$248. This price range, considering its specifications and technologies, positions the Leopard 5 as a strong competitor in the growing electric car market in Brazil.
