This makes the Land Cruiser FJ the fifth member of Toyota's 4×4 jeep line, alongside the Land Cruiser, Land Cruiser LC 300, SW4 and 4Runner.
The story behind the name
The Land Cruiser FJ has a long history dating back to the FJ20, launched in 1955. This model was sold in Brazil as the Bandeirante and left an indelible mark in the hearts of off-road vehicle lovers. Since then, Toyota has continued to use the name Land Cruiser FJ, the last time being an SUV with a retro design between 2006 and 2022, which even had some units imported to Brazil independently.

The return of the icon
The new Land Cruiser FJ will likely be a production version of the concept Toyota unveiled last year, the Toyota Compact Cruiser. The SUV will inherit the design of the concept, with more square and defined lines, maintaining the retro inspiration. The teaser released by Toyota during the launch of the Land Cruiser suggests that the new model will be smaller than the new Land Cruiser's 4,92 meter length, positioning itself as an entry-level model for off-road enthusiasts.
