PUCRS is accepting applications for the Raízes Program, which offers full scholarships for in-person undergraduate studies to black, brown and indigenous people. The initiative aims to promote inclusion and accessibility in higher education, ensuring opportunities for those who need them most.

Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS) reinforces your commitment with diversity and social inclusion by opening vacancies in its Raízes Program, which is now in its fourth edition. The initiative offers full scholarships for in-person undergraduate courses for black and indigenous students in situations of socioeconomic vulnerability. Applications are open until October 15th and cover more than 40 undergraduate courses, all aimed at entry in the first semester of 2025.

Opportunity to access quality education

To participate in the PUCRS Roots Program, candidates must meet a series of requirements, such as taking the National High School Exam (Enem) between 2020 and 2023, with a minimum score of 600 points for the Medicine course and 400 points for the other courses.. Therefore, it is necessary to reside in Porto Alegre or the Metropolitan Region and prove the situation of socioeconomic vulnerability, with a per capita family income of up to one and a half minimum wages.

The Raízes Program seeks not only to offer vacancies, but to provide an inclusive and welcoming academic environment, facilitating access to quality higher education for those who historically have had fewer opportunities. How the selection process works

The selection process for full undergraduate scholarships The Roots Program is made up of two stages. First, candidates must register on the PUCRS website by October 15, 2024, sending the necessary documents to prove their eligibility. This documentation includes proof of income, ethnic self-declaration and academic records.

After approval of this first phase, pre-selected candidates must register for the Summer Entrance Exam of PUCRS, until October 29, 2024, through Modality II, which uses the Enem score. It is important that the candidate has a good score on the Enem and has not scored zero on the essay to guarantee their participation in the selection process.

The final result will be announced on December 10, 2024, when those approved will be called for enrollment. Classes are scheduled to start in February 2025, marking the beginning of a new academic journey for future university students.
