People with disabilities can apply for inclusion assistance, a benefit created to support their entry into the job market. Understanding the rules for accessing this right is essential to ensure greater autonomy and effective participation in society.
O inclusion aid, maintained by National Institute of Social Security (INSS), offers a benefit of half the minimum wage for people with moderate or severe disabilities who enter the formal job market or in a similar regime.
The amount, which in 2024 was R$706 per month, seeks to ensure greater social inclusion, offering a supplementary income for those who stopped receiving the Continuous Payment Benefit (BPC-Loas) due to paid professional activity.
Who can receive the inclusion aid?
To be entitled to benefit, the worker must meet very specific criteria defined by the Brazilian Inclusion Law.

First, you must have a moderate or severe disability and be employed or in another form of paid work, earning up to two minimum wages per month.
It is also mandatory to have received BPC-Loas at some point in the last five years before starting work.
Furthermore, when requesting assistance, the citizen must have their registration updated in the Federal Government's Single Registry (CadÚnico) and have their Individual Taxpayer Registry (CPF) regularized.
Another fundamental requirement is that the beneficiary is formally classified as a mandatory insured person under the General Social Security Regime or affiliated with a specific social security regime of the states, municipalities, Federal District or Union.
How to apply for the benefit
The request for inclusion assistance is made directly to the INSS. The request can be opened through the Meu INSS app or website, where it is possible to attach the required documents.
Another option is to make the request by calling 135. During the period in which the beneficiary receives the inclusion aid, their BPC is automatically suspended.
If, for some reason, the beneficiary stops working, the aid will be interrupted, but the BPC can be reactivated upon a new request.
It is worth remembering that individual taxpayers, casual workers and special insured persons cannot yet receive the inclusion benefit, as specific regulations for these categories are not yet in force.
Family income assessment
To be entitled to the benefit, it is also necessary to prove a monthly per capita family income equal to or less than a quarter of the minimum wage.
However, some incomes are not considered in this calculation, such as the inclusion aid already received by another family member, remuneration of up to two minimum wages of the applicant and amounts coming from supervised internship or apprenticeship.
If the beneficiary already has active BPC, their right to inclusion assistance is automatically presumed, without the need for new proof.
Accumulation prohibited with other benefits
Those who receive the inclusion benefit cannot accumulate this income with other social security sources. For example, accumulation with retirement benefits, pensions, disability benefits or unemployment insurance is prohibited.
If the inclusion benefit is suspended for any reason, the beneficiary has the right to reapply for BPC, as long as they still meet the conditions required for this benefit.
By ensuring the inclusion of people with disabilities in the job market, the inclusion benefit becomes a relevant alternative to guarantee the financial and social independence of thousands of Brazilians.
