“Licensing is a technical process. The technical area has its own time to carry out the analysis, and at the appropriate time they make their statements, based on technical grounds,” said Marina, after participating in a G20 side event on finance in environmental sustainability.
Petrobras has been waiting since 2023 to explore oil in the region

"This is how it works in a republican government. What works are institutions and technical opinions, based on environmental impact studies,” added the minister, reinforcing that the analysis of oil exploration in the so-called Foz do Amazonas follows strict criteria.
