The Petrobras Autonomy and Income Program, in partnership with Federal Institute of Espírito Santo (Ifes), has just opened registration for 100% free courses with scholarships of up to R$850.

Opportunities for the job market

The Petrobras Autonomy and Income Program is accepting applications until December 26, 2024 for technical courses in various areas. There are 400 vacancies distributed among the cities of Aracruz, Cachoeiro de Itapemirim, Cariacica, Colatina, Guarapari, Linhares, São Mateus and Vitória.

The courses are aimed at those who have already completed high school and have, at least, completed elementary school in a public school.

According to Petrobras, the objective of the program is to qualify professionals for the Oil and Gas sector, through subsequent technical courses in the areas of Mechanics, Electrotechnics, Automation, Occupational Safety, Buildings and others.

In addition to acquiring valuable technical knowledge, those selected will be able to count on monthly grants to cover their studies and personal expenses.

Exclusive benefits for participants

Financial support is one of the program's main attractions. Selected participants will receive a stipend of R$660 per month during the course. For women with children up to 11 years old, the amount increases to R$858 per month.

But the benefits don't stop there: the program also offers reinforcement in Portuguese and Mathematics, to improve academic performance, as well as psychosocial support and courses aimed at developing socio-emotional and personal skills.

The initiative seeks to provide students with comprehensive training, which goes beyond technical learning, with the aim of increasing their chances of success in the job market.

Courses offered and study locations

The technical courses of the Petrobras Autonomy and Income Program are focused on the technological axis of Industrial Control and Processes, with an emphasis on professions in the Oil and Gas sector. Check out the available courses and their respective campuses:

  • Mechanical technician (40 vacancies – afternoon shift) – Aracruz Campus
  • Production Planning and Control Technician (40 vacancies – afternoon shift) – Cariacica Campus
  • Quality Control Technician (40 vacancies – night shift) – Cachoeiro de Itapemirim Campus
  • Building Technician (40 vacancies – night shift) – Colatina Campus
  • Electrotechnical Technician (40 vacancies – night shift) – Guarapari Campus

About the Petrobras Autonomy and Income Program

The Petrobras Autonomy and Income Program is a social responsibility action by Petrobras in partnership with Federal Institutes of Education, Science and Technology (IFs) and the IFSul Support Foundation (FaifSul).

Petrobras will invest around R$350 million over the next four years to train professionals in more than 40 municipalities located in six Brazilian states, including Espírito Santo, with a focus on the Oil and Gas sector.

The initiative seeks to expand employment opportunities and provide greater financial autonomy to participants, allowing them to acquire technical qualifications and compete in the job market with greater chances of success.

How to Apply in the course

Registration for courses in the Petrobras Autonomy and Income Program is open until December 26, 2024.

To register, the candidate must access the official website of the program and fill out the electronic form, attaching the documents requested in the notice.

The selection will be carried out by public draw, and all vacancies are reserved for candidates who meet the requirements of the Quota Law.

Why is this project only in Espírito Santo? Why not in all Brazilian states or even where there are refineries or extraction centers?

The courses could be offered in other cities (states) as well, e.g. Bahia, even if the person later had to travel to work abroad.
