According to PetroRio production data, more than 5 extra barrels of oil were extracted compared to 2020

PetroRio released last Thursday night, January 6, preliminary data on its oil and gas production during the year 2021. As described in the report, the oil company ended the period with 31.615 barrels of oil equivalent extracted daily. The volume is equivalent to a growth of about 19% compared to the figures for 2020 – the year in which PetroRio produced 26.569 barrels of oil equivalent per day.

Especially in relation to the month of December, PetroRio says that its total production balance was 34.180 barrels of oil equivalent per day. This is equivalent to a growth of 9,4% compared to November (31.235 barrels of oil equivalent daily).

PetroRio also stated that “production at the Tubarão Martelo Field in December was impacted by the stoppage of production at well OGX-44HP in the first days of the month, due to a failure in the submersible centrifugal pump (BCS), causing a reduction in production by about of 1,4 kbpd”. The Kingmaker rig is performing a workover, which is expected to be completed in January.

Not long ago, PetroRio formalized the request for a Declaration of Commerciality for the Wahoo discovery at the National Petroleum Agency (ANP). The oil company also made public the Development Plan for the agency to operate the asset exclusively. Wahoo is located in the CM-101 block, in the Campos Basin, and has a total of 126 million recoverable barrels of oil (1C), according to the certification of reserves issued in January by D&M.
