Investment of almost R$100 million transforms agricultural infrastructure in Piauí, optimizing the flow of production and benefiting the local economy
The paving works on PI-392, known as Rodovia da Soja, are close to completion, representing a milestone for the flow of production agricultural project in the south of Piauí. With an investment of over R$93 million, the project was carried out by the Piauí Highway Department (DER), guaranteeing a 53 km stretch of paved road, which goes from the Bunge Alimentos headquarters to the Brejo Seco Farm.
Importance of the soybean highway
The Soybean Highway is considered one of the main corridors for agribusiness in Piauí, directly benefiting producers and boosting the local economy. DER's general director, Leonardo Sobral, explained that the work is part of the Soybean Beltway Action Plan, which aims to improve logistics and facilitate the transportation of crops.
"This project is part of the Soy Beltway Action Plan. The section covered goes from the city of Baixa Grande do Ribeiro, passing through Bunge Serra Grande, Fazenda Insolo (Ipê), to Fazenda Brejo Seco. Therefore, the project will benefit farms that work in different agricultural production crops.”, said Sobral.

Investment and benefits
The work was carried out according to the established schedule, highlighting the government's responsibility to maintain deadlines and the quality of the infrastructure.
The R$93 million invested is proof of the commitment to road development in Piauí, ensuring that producers have access to better quality roads and greater safety in the transportation of their production.
Final stage and delivery
The highway is currently undergoing the signage phase, an important step to ensure driver safety and facilitate navigation. The project is scheduled to be handed over soon and will be attended by Governor Rafael Fonteles, who has highlighted the positive impact of the project for the state.
Sobral stressed that the soybean ring road not only optimizes transportation infrastructure, but also promotes economic growth throughout the region. However, the absence of accents on certain words can still be seen on some local signs, something that should be adjusted before the official inauguration.
Development and future
The strengthening of road infrastructure in Piauí reflects a plan that goes beyond current projects, aiming at the future of the region and the state's competitiveness in agribusiness. This project on the PI-392 is one of the central pieces of a broader plan, which includes new investments in other sections that are crucial for the flow of crops and regional development.
