Portugal is stepping up its efforts to attract Brazilian IT professionals with attractive incentives, such as free educational programs, practical internships and work visas.

Amid a growing wave of global demand for technology experts, the Portuguese government is stepping up its strategies to attract Brazilian IT students and professionals.

In a strategic initiative, Portugal wants to fill gaps in the job market and, at the same time, open doors for those seeking international experience.

The incentives range from educational programs with a practical focus to the possibility of obtaining a work visa, an attraction that makes many Brazilians consider the country as a new base for their careers.

Portugal as a promising destination for IT specialists

With the technology sector booming, Portugal is among the preferred destinations for Brazilians seeking professional growth.

The country offers a welcoming environment, well-structured infrastructure and educational programs aimed at developing technological skills.

Furthermore, the possibility of carrying out paid internships during the courses provides essential practical experience to compete in the job market.

According to data from October 2024, salaries for IT professionals in Portugal range between โ‚ฌ30.000 and โ‚ฌ60.000 per year for junior positions, and can reach higher values โ€‹โ€‹depending on experience and specialization.

Educational programs for entry and growth in technology

Portugal has a range of accessible educational programs for Brazilians who want to start or reorient their careers in technology.

According to official information, these programs require at least a high school diploma.

In some cases, prior knowledge in certain areas may be required.

The training offered combines theory with a strong practical component: Internships are an essential part of the courses, ensuring that students gain the experience that companies value so much.

Application and visa process to facilitate the move

The registration process for Brazilians who wish to participate in technology programs is simple and carried out through the official Portuguese government portal.

In addition, the country offers specific programs, such as StartUP Visa and the tech visa, which simplify the entry of entrepreneurs and qualified professionals into the Portuguese market.

StartUP Visa: This program offers financial and logistical support to entrepreneurs with innovative projects who wish to establish themselves in Portugal.

tech visa: Intended for highly qualified professionals, this visa offers adaptation facilities, such as support in finding housing and the possibility of bringing family members.

These programs aim to facilitate the transition and allow IT professionals to start working in Portugal without the bureaucratic barriers that often complicate the immigration process.

Courses offered and areas of specialization

Portugal, through the Institute of JOBS and Professional Training (IEFP), offers a wide variety of courses in the IT area, all with free registration.

To participate, you must have a Tax Identification Number (NIF) Portuguese and meet the specific requirements of each course. Among the areas of study, the following stand out:

Development and programming โ€“ a constantly expanding field, with starting salaries of โ‚ฌ25.000 to โ‚ฌ40.000 per year for recent graduates.

Data and artificial intelligence โ€“ with a focus on data analysis, specialists can achieve salaries of up to โ‚ฌ70.000 per year in high-level positions.

Digital security โ€“ an area in high demand, with starting positions averaging โ‚ฌ35.000 per year, increasing with experience.

Management of technological projects โ€“ ideal for those looking to work at the interface between technology and management, with competitive salaries starting from โ‚ฌ30.000 per year.

Networks and connectivity โ€“ with high demand in companies that operate globally, and remuneration of around โ‚ฌ45.000 per year for experienced professionals.

User Interface and Experience Design (UI/UX) โ€“ a growing area, with growth opportunities that can reach โ‚ฌ50.000 per year.

These areas of specialization respond to the growing need for professionals prepared to work in the most varied technological sectors.

The country invests heavily in technological education, which makes it easier for students to adapt to the job market.

Why is Portugal an advantageous choice for Brazilians?

Studying and working in Portugal offers benefits beyond professional experience: the opportunity to work with a European visa increases the chances of working in companies in different countries.

Another aspect is quality of life: many Brazilians report satisfaction with the structure of Portuguese cities, in addition to the ease of cultural and linguistic adaptation.

With competitive salaries, Portugal is one of the few countries that offers both learning and professional growth in the IT sector.

Experts recommend that, before opting for a change, candidates research the requirements of each program in detail and keep an eye on market opportunities, as Portugal, like other European countries, values โ€‹โ€‹innovation and continuous training.

After all, is it worth investing in a technology career in Portugal? Would you leave Brazil to work in the European country? Leave your answer in the comments!
