The benefit will be aimed at low-income families and aims to help with the purchase of gas cylinders. The expenses created by the Law will come from the resources available in the Fund to Combat Poverty (FECOP), said the President of the Legislative Assembly.

Increase in cooking gas

Last month, the Petrobras announced a 5,9% increase in distributors, that is, the kg went to R$ 3,40. As is already evident, cooking gas has had higher prices in recent months, so much so that it is currently common to find cylinders with values ​​that exceed R$ 100, as is the case in the North region, where the price of cooking gas reaches R$ $ 113. In the month of May, the product also suffered an increase of 1,24% in distributors across the country according to IBGE data, while piped gas had an increase of 4,58%.

Vale-gás: Aid for cooking gas in other states

Due to the increase in gas mentioned above, the governments of Maranhão and Ceará are providing the population with aid for the purchase of cooking gas, known as gas vouchers.

For those residing in Ceará, the state government created the social gas voucherl, which was granted in two rounds and was administered by Cras de Fortaleza. In Maranhão, the government began to release aid for cooking gas through coordination by the Secretariat for Social Development (Sedes), generating benefits for about 119 thousand families throughout the state.
