Suggestion was given by Joaquim Levy and aims to lower the cost of transport in the country, along with the implementation of a high-speed train connecting São Paulo to Campinas.
During a lunch with businessmen, the president of BNDES, Joaquim Levy, suggested that Diesel be replaced by natural gas as fuel for trucks.
According to the executive, the measure would reduce the price of transport in the country and recalled that China already uses natural gas in its trucks to transport cargo.
Joaquim Levy's suggestion comes almost a week after President Bolsonaro vetoed the diesel increase and requested a better clarification from Petrobras of the increase calculations.
The President's intervention caused Petrobras to lose BRL 14 billion in two hours due to a 5% devaluation of its shares.

Bullet train
Another suggestion given by the president of the Bndes refers to the implementation of a “bullet train” that would connect the Viracopos airports in Campinas to São Paulo and a direct train that would connect Guarulhos and São Paulo.
The idea is to facilitate movement between the largest airports in São Paulo and carry out other infrastructure works, taking advantage of the good economic moment of low interest rates, he said.
It is worth remembering that the train project dates back to the government of Dilma Rousseff, whose minister he was at the time.
In order to implement his suggestion of using natural gas as fuel in trucks, it would be necessary, according to Levy, to break the gas distribution monopoly, currently controlled by the states.
"If we manage to open this market, we will have countless opportunities", he said, emphasizing the need for a change in legislation in Congress.
The Bndes president went on to state that the use of natural gas in thermoelectric plants is not as efficient as its use in other industries, such as fertilizers and the chemical sector.
