Friday, September 1st, a morning that began like any other in Cabreúva, a city in the interior of São Paulo, turned into a tragedy due to an explosion at a metallurgical plant located on Rua David Marcassa Lopes, in the Pinhal neighborhood. This tragic accident that left dead and injured dozens of people caused great commotion in the community., raising concerns about safety at industrial facilities in the region.

What should have been an ordinary morning at work turned into a scene of horror when a violent explosion rocked the metallurgical plant. The tragedy occurred around 10:40 am, when an aluminum melting furnace at the metallurgical plant exploded in a devastating way, resulting in irreparable human losses. The government of São Paulo, in an official note, confirmed the death of at least two people, leaving the community in mourning and in shock.

Twelve vehicles and two Águia helicopters were called in to assist in the rescue and care of the injured.

The Cabreúva city hall, in the Jundiaí region, reported that 20 people were referred to the Emergency Care Unit (UPA) site, while another 15 were taken to Santa Casa de Cabreúva. The state of health of the wounded remains unknown, a source of anxiety for their families and friends.

Major Eric, from the Fire Department, announced that the occurrence was closed after the completion of the aftermath work. However, the mystery persists: the causes of the explosion are still unknown, and a thorough investigation will be conducted to clarify what triggered this tragedy.

September 1, 2023 will be marked in the memory of Cabreúva, São Paulo, as a day of mourning and overcoming. The explosion at the metallurgical plant shook not only the structure of the company, but also the lives of many families.
