Hurry! Registration for the free course “Territories of Writing” ends this Saturday, November 30th. Promoted by the Ministry of Culture and UFRGS, the program offers 1.000 distance learning places and 100 scholarships of R$2 for those who dream of turning their passion for writing into a career.

A free, completely online writing course is offering 1.000 places across Brazil and also gives you the chance to win a R$2 scholarship. But be careful: registration closes this Saturday, November 30, 2024.

The programme Territories of Writing is a partnership between the Ministry of Culture and Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS).

In addition to offering training in various literary genres, such as poetry, novels, short stories and chronicles, the program seeks to democratize access to literary training and reveal new talents.

Places are limited and the deadline is fast approaching, so it is essential to hurry to secure your registration!

Why is this opportunity so special?

Different than other courses, Territories of Writing It was developed to serve both those who are beginning to explore writing and writers who want to improve their techniques.

The EAD format eliminates geographical and financial barriers, allowing anyone, anywhere in Brazil, to participate without travel costs or registration fees.

Course structure and syllabus

Scheduled to begin on January 15, 2025, classes will be held entirely online, using a practical and dynamic methodology. During the course, participants will be able to delve into various literary genres, including:

  • Long narrative (novel);
  • Tale;
  • Poetry;
  • Chronicle;
  • Children's literature;
  • Dramatic text.

Each genre is approached as a learning path, with activities that encourage creativity and the development of a unique style.

In addition, students will have contact with techniques for building characters, developing dialogues and structuring plots.

Interaction with renowned professionals from the literary world is another great advantage., offering participants the chance to exchange experiences and receive valuable guidance.

Social inclusion and representation

O Territories of Writing also stands out for promoting diversity and inclusion. The notice reserves vacancies for historically underrepresented groups, ensuring a plural and accessible environment.

Distribution of places by quotas:

  • 25% for black people (black and brown);
  • 10% for indigenous people;
  • 5% for people with disabilities (PCD).

Furthermore, candidates from the North, Northeast and Central-West regions are entitled to extra points in the selection process, encouraging the participation of people from different parts of the country.

How to apply to the creative writing program?

The process is simple and completely online. To participate, you must access the program's official website, fill out the registration form and send the requested documents.

Important: Registration ends on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at 23:59 p.m. There is no registration fee, but you must be careful to fill in all fields correctly and ensure participation in the selection process.

How does selection work in the creative writing project?

After the registration period closes, the selection process will take place between December 1st and 10th. The evaluation will be based on the responses to the application questionnaire and the documents presented by the candidates.

Only those who obtain a minimum grade of 7,0 will be approved., ensuring a quality standard among participants. The preliminary result will be released on December 10, 2024.
