Online training in health methodologies is an unmissable offer for health and education professionals, with 50 vacancies. A unique opportunity for free training with the Ministry of Health and Fiocruz.

The Ministry of Health, in partnership with the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz), has just opened registration for a free online course focused on Health Education Methodologies.

The initiative is part of the Health at School Program (PSE) and aims to train health and education professionals who work directly with students at different levels of education.

With a total of 50 thousand vacancies available, the course offers an excellent opportunity for those seeking to improve their knowledge in essential areas of public health in Brazil.

This completely free online course is primarily intended for community health workers, nurses, dentists, doctors, educators, teachers and other members of the school community.

The offer is one of several SUS initiatives that aim to improve the training of professionals who work in schools, with an emphasis on the development of educational methodologies for health promotion.

The course has a workload of 30 hours and addresses several topics relevant to the daily lives of professionals involved in the program, such as food and nutrition, mental health, public health policies and oral health, among others.

Classes are taught by Open University of the Unified Health System (UNA-SUS), in collaboration with Fiocruz Brasília.

Who can enroll in the course?

A priority The professionals who work directly in the School Health Program are eligible to register, such as:

  • Community Health Agents,
  • Nursing and Oral Health Professionals,
  • Physicians,
  • Professionals of the multidisciplinary health team,
  • educators,
  • Teachers,
  • E other members of the school community.

However, vacancies are also open to other health and education professionals who wish to improve their skills in the aforementioned areas.

Program content

Course participants will have access to comprehensive content covering the following topics:

Food and Nutrition: Learning about the principles of healthy eating and its impact on the health of the school population.

Primary Health Care and Family Health: Fundamentals of primary care in the context of school health and the role of the family in this process.

Health education: Teaching strategies for health promotion in schools.

Health Policies and Planning: How public policies influence school health and best practices for implementing them.

Health promotion: Tools and methodologies to promote healthy habits among students.

Environmental health: The relationship between the school environment and students’ health.

Oral Health: Prevention and care related to oral health in schools.

Child Health: Specific care for children's well-being in the school context.

Health of the Black Population: Health strategies aimed at the black population.

Adolescent and Youth Health: The role of schools in promoting health among adolescents and young people.

Mental Health: How to deal with mental health issues in the school environment.

Sexual and Reproductive Health: Essential information on sexual and reproductive health for young people and adolescents.

Students who enroll must complete the course between April 8, 2025 and August 15, 2025.

The certificate of completion will be granted by the UNA-SUS platform, free of charge, to approved participants.
