This nuclear aircraft carrier would not only expand the operational reach of the Brazilian Navy but also position the country as one of the main naval forces in the region. The project, which follows the development of nuclear technology for submarines, faces significant challenges, including the need for a robust budget to cover high maintenance and operating costs.

Brazil announces ambitious plans to integrate a nuclear aircraft carrier into its fleet by 2040, marking a significant advance in the projection of naval power in Latin America. This decision aims to expand the Brazilian military presence in the oceans and increase the country status in the global defense scenario.

The nuclear aircraft carrier project appears as a continuation of the development of Brazil's nuclear military capabilities, which began with the construction of a nuclear submarine. This aircraft carrier would represent a new phase of power projection, with the ability to operate independently in any oceanic region, without the need for ground support for its aircraft.

Brazilian Navy feels the lack of an aircraft carrier since the deactivation of São Paulo in 2018

The Brazilian Navy has been missing an aircraft carrier since the deactivation of the São Paulo in 2018, following a series of technical problems. The country, which has an extensive coastline and responsibilities in the Blue Amazon, sees the renewal of its aerial projection capacity as essential for the defense and control of its waters.

The Squadron Admiral Marcos Sampaio Olsen, current commander of the Navy, highlighted the importance of a robust budget to support the operation of an aircraft carrier. He emphasized that in addition to acquiring the vessel, substantial resources are required for ongoing maintenance and operation, including fuel and repairs.

Brazil plans its future nuclear aircraft carrier

As Brazil plans its future nuclear aircraft carrier, there are debates about its feasibility and effectiveness. The strategy includes the development of versatile indigenous aircraft to maximize the carrier's defensive capabilities. There is a discussion about the type of propulsion that will be used, with an inclination towards nuclear technology due to its autonomy and power.

The investment for a nuclear aircraft carrier is significant, estimated at up to US$5,25 billion. This value reflects the cost of the advanced technology and development required to support a vessel of such magnitude and capacity.

The Brazilian Navy's plan to possess a nuclear aircraft carrier by 2040 is an audacious step that reflects the country's ambitions to strengthen its military influence globally. The completion of this project will depend on Brazil's ability to overcome technical and financial challenges, consolidating its position as a naval power in the southern hemisphere.

This news is a joke, with so many more important things, saying that Brazil is going to build aircraft carriers, for what???, give a gallon of paint and a roller and tell these people to go paint the guides.

Why? Leave the door to your house open so you can see what happens! Or better yet, remove the bars from all the windows. If you live in a building, remove the gate from the entrance and leave it open. People will deliver flowers to your home with lots of love and affection, and offer tea to anyone who comes in!

An aircraft carrier is useful if you have a good air force, because an aircraft carrier is a simple landing strip that can be placed anywhere in the world. For a qualitative leap in technological knowledge, it is very valid.

You're kidding, right? Brazil needs several corvettes, frigates, cruisers and submarines before thinking about having an aircraft carrier.

Aircraft carrier, more taxes for nothing, or should it be, to receive on deck and deliver medals and honors to corrupt people who carry dollars in their underwear, as we saw last week, regrettable!!!

Conflict scenarios evolve very quickly. Aircraft carriers have become of dubious utility in the face of hypersonic missiles.
