DARPA, the United States Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, is working on a revolutionary project: an autonomous military flying car. This vehicle, known as “X-Plane”, has unique characteristics that differentiate it from traditional aircraft.

This car military flying have the ability to take off and vertical landing (VTOL), which eliminates the need for long landing strips. This allows them to operate in restricted areas and increase access options for the Armed Forces.

Furthermore, they are equipped with advanced artificial intelligence, which means they do not need a pilot. This feature increases safety and reduces training costs.

The flying car is designed to operate in adverse weather conditions such as rain, snow and strong winds

DARPA is focused on improving the payload and range of these flying cars, enabling the transport of heavier equipment and increasing flight range. This significantly expands the scope of military missions.

Currently, DARPA is in the evaluation phase of projects from different manufacturers, with an emphasis on safety and vertical flight capability. The most promising projects will be selected in mid-2025 for prototype development and testing. The first real flights are scheduled for early 2026.

This DARPA innovation promises to transform the way operations military operations are conducted, offering new possibilities and increasing the efficiency of the United States Armed Forces.
